National German Chocolate Cake Day Cards

While it's called 'German' chocolate cake, this decadent dessert actually has American origins! It was named after Samuel German, an American baker who developed a type of sweet baking chocolate for Baker's Chocolate Company in the late 19th century. This chocolate was used in the original recipe for what we now know as German chocolate cake. The holiday celebrates this beloved treat.
