White Day is a holiday celebrated in Japan and other East Asian countries on March 14th, one month after Valentine's Day. It originated in Japan in the late 1970s as a day for men to return the gesture of love and affection received from women on Valentine's Day. While traditionally chocolates were given on Valentine's Day, White Day sees men offering white-colored gifts such as marshmallows, cookies, jewelry, or even lilies.
